One of the many perks of being a teacher is that I get today off! I love three day weekends. I'm planning on meeting some of the teachers for a movie today, then I'm going to try and spend some more of my gift cards from Christmas.
I had my first two softball conditionings last week. For the first day, the girls were lifting weights and doing exercises. They have a strength coach, so all I really did the whole time was just stand there talking to the other coaches. It was pretty easy. My first impression was that the girls are really tall. I'm so used to being around elementary students. I think it will take a little getting used to. I don't quite feel like an authority figure yet. The second day they brought down the batting cages and really I still just kinda stood there for that too. I'm looking forward to when the season starts and I'll be able to coach more. I am grateful for this time to observe and get used to things first though.
