a little chaotic as usual... today has been a day off... it is supposed to be freedom, isn't it? and, yes, I suppose it was but I didn't seem to feel free enough... never quite seem to get beyond the point of frustratingly far behind... something pops up in to my mind now and then about a manager who kept a list of jobs that his work force were supposed to do, when the list got out of hand he merely tore it up and began again with a clean sheet...
That is what I should do...
Anyway... in no particular order... I have been to see Suzerain and The Modern... I especially enjoyed Suzerain... I think I was just a bit too far gone when The Modern came on... as I don't seem to remember much about their little performance... I remember balloons...
A weekend in Sussex which was full of good things, like tea in the Tudor Rose when we first got to Arundel... teacakes as well... perfect... viewings of two houses in Lyminster, both were lovely, especially Corner Cottage but unfortunately neither will become my home... more tea in The Denton Lounge and then watching Sally playing the role of Lucy in Bless The Bride... so good, so sweet, so charming and old fashioned... then sort of lunch in "Sofa" with Sally, David, Anna, Julie, and several of the show people... oh, including Chas Van Nimwegan!!! So funny to see him after all those years... well, probably twenty seven years!!! Odd that he stuck in my mind all that time... he is so funny now! He told me that life should be all about fun and I did believe him for a day or so as I was having such a lovely weekend. Sally is lucky having him as part of her everyday life.
Anyway... after all that Mark and I went back to Julie's to see all the things she has done in her house, the clever thing!
Then back to Arundel where we dined in The Norfolk Hotel... oh, how lovely that was...
The next day, after one of those gorgeous hotel breakfasts we sped off to Lewes and found the third house which was about seven hundred years old and situated in a beautiful road called Southover High Street, we did like it as we have liked nearly all the places we have viewed but the little cottage bedrooms were far too slopey ceilinged and small for practical use... it was more like a two bedroomed house with a pretty sort of loft area... charming for someone, but not us. Sadly, as Lewes is a heavenly town.
Of course while we were so close we went round Anne Of Cleves House and many of the shops finding lovely Pembroke tables etc.
Then we went off to Charleston which I absolutely loved! Mark was a little scathing about some of the art and decor... but... who cares? It was lovely.
Then there came Monday morning and I had to go back to the hell of the Satanic Mill which just drains every drop of hope from my soul.
Then there was La Belle Helene and seeing Emily in the foyer... what a lovely surprise...
And then Lene Lovich at The Metro.
