The worst is the waiting, in this world I’m suffocating

*ready for the most pointless entry ever?…It’s just a giant blog of me gushing lol*

FINALLY!!

iTunes has Skillet’s new single “Rebirthing”…the full song is even better than I could have imagined! The chorus is soooo amazing! My stomach is in knots…this is just…so beautiful. They have perfected the art of using strings correctly- ie the strings serve a purpose, and aren’t just annoying fillers. The build up it gives at the beginning is so grand it makes me sick- and then John comes in, building you up even more, then going into a nice ’soft’ verse of sorts…and…Wow…yea.

They did great on Collide- but wow. This is just…beyond great.

This.will.rock.live. *grins* A month away, from yesterday to be exact! HAH!

The chorus SERIOUSLY gives me chills- John’s amazingly passionate vocals, and Korey’s crazy vocals going over his at points. Perfect. Buy it. Seriously.

Lyrically AMAZING!

I haven’t been this excited for a record since…gosh…who knows when! Can we say “pre-ordering at the show”? Indeed.

This is musical gold.

…did I mention I like it? :-p

Skillet won the place of “Favorite CCM band” after Collide (based solely on music- not the people- skillet rock’s in both ways…but yea), and this certainly solidifies that! After not hearing any new material for over a year (if you consider the re-release of Collide with one new song ‘new’- otherwise- like…almost 2 years), and not having seen them live since January of 2005…they’ve held on to that top spot- and this song certainly buys them some leg room. They’ll be there for quite some time if the album lives up to the expectations I have for it after the musical, lyrical, and just…hard hitting quality that this single has!

Has best live show in CCM- crazy length(they had like a 20 song set when I saw them last- $10 show…with KITW and Seventh Day Slumber- I got more than my money’s worth!), amazing energy, and they sound great- they certainly prove they are the real deal live, some bands suck live- but they are a TRUE live band- they shine live!
Second best lyrical quality. (I shall always see Mr. Joel’s as the best, but they’re good in different ways. Phil’s- I like his use of words, often quite poetic. Skillet’s stuff is very real, and very raw…they certainly aren’t adding to the ‘Christians are perfect happy-go-lucky robots” idea in ANY way. I adore it. Their lyrics are very heavy- they pack a punch.)
Probably my favorite with studio recordings as well.
Semi-impersonal, but the three times I’ve met them have been at signings. And even then- Ben has made an effort every time…so yea. And I never really cared about talking to them on any real level, so that’s easy to overlook.

Why is this band not bigger than they are? They still play super cheap shows, on small tours, and do signings after every show…that just…doesn’t make sense. They’ve been around forever, have had some decent success, even mainstream tours, and…yea…I don’t get it- but call me selfish- I’d rather go to small $10 shows than huge $30 shows!

So maybe I should actually say they’re horrid. Yea…I can’t do it :-p

^ found that on Google looking for new promo pics…haha…yeeeaaa…Just when I thought John had given up his weird clothes for good. Gotta love that. Yay for it being like a year old though! Feathers…eek.
