Well, today I turned 34. God I'm old. Instead of just sitting around and complaining that I've got nothing to do, I decided to go ahead and try to set up a 'Indoor Track Racing' thing in Thousand Oaks today --
http://www.mb2raceway.com/thousand_oaks/home.html So that should be exciting. Figured I'd just get a few people together and just try to do that, since it's something different. Normally on my Birthday, since no one would set anything up, I'd end up doing nothing at all.. So rather than have that happen, I figure I'd take the initiative and set something up. If you didn't get an invite, don't think it's because I wasn't thinking of you -- Rather, I realize these days that budgets are tight and it's not easy to afford something as expensive as this potentially could be, or it's because I know you're friggin busy and I didn't want you to feel obligated to go.
Anyway, I have that set up for around 3pm today. There's also a lucha-va-voom event in Ventura that I might end up going to -- Midget wrestling and burlesque dancers! All depends on how much it ends up costing -- Looking at ticketmaster, it's coming out to around $50 per ticket - which is expensive. I dunno, I need to think about it since today will already be expensive and I'll need to see what all is going on afterwards. Just playing it all by ear at this point to be honest.
Yesterday, I took the day off from work and met up with my friend Cyndee - We went to the CSI Exhibit in downtown LA and then went to the Garment district looking for a bag to hold my escrima armor. The exhibit itself was pretty interesting, but more geared to spurring young kids into getting excited about science. All in all, I had a fun time. After dropping off Cyndee, I went and visited my friend Phil up in Porter Ranch for dinner before finally heading home.
Right now, I'm just burning videos of my nephew so I can free up my Flip Camera for the racing today. Hopefully I can get it all done - -However, I can't seem to find the octopus mount that I bought at Circuit City a long time ago -- Bummer.
Anyway, that's it for now. Hopefully this year will be a whole lot better than last year, which started off on rocky footing. But only I can control how I respond to new situations. I'm going to try to get myself out there more this year and put myself in awkward situations as opposed to just hiding away and securing myself in my own 'fortress of solitude.'
Later!
