Do you have a koala hanging from your bedroom window?

Harry Potter movies in five seconds. And it's sadly so ironic and true XD

And others: Rocky in five seconds || Revenge of the Sith || Spaceballs || Monty Python and the Holy Grail || Home Alone || Hook || Jurassic Park || Batman

And a trip down memory lane. Anyone remember the Koala Bear show from when we were kids? Talking like late 1980s, early 1990s so of course, dumb me, that's not childhood for everyone on my flist, sorry, sorry but it was this cartoon of this girl who had two koala bears living outside her home. And her house was pretty cool and had a eucalyptus tree outside of it. And I can never remember what it was called.

Went journal-hopping today looking at icons, and found a link to youtube for the Noozles show:

I THINK THIS WAS THE SHOW. LIKE THE SONG CALLS TO ME FROM MY MEMORY OR SOMETHING. Does anyone else remember something like this?

I hate when I get sucked into a series and then can't find it anywhere. Pure comic, but visually awesome and I'm already sold on the main romance from like the first page. Problem is, it's originally in French, there doesn't seem to be an English translation in circulation on amazon.com, and there's no scans on the web. I could try the local comic shops, buuuut I really really don't know if the entire series was ever released in English (I'm guessing? Except I found one - count it, one - website for the comic, and while visually stunning, most of it was in Italian [I think] and putting past jaunts to Italia aside I don't know Italian. Woe) and I also don't really know where the comic shops are >.> I should ask Justin, but if I tell him I'm looking for a comic book that combines sex doll robots with religion, he may just laugh at me and no longer be my friend.

So I am fairly woebegone. I may just have to break down and buy all of Banana Fish, but it seems like a rather expensive venture on the merit of reviews and only reading two chapters of it. But dammit I want to know moaaaaar ;_;

I just need to be the most lingual person in the world. Multi-lingual. Panlingual? And then I could get a job anywhere! But I would only use it to read manga and comics XD

Does this happen to other people? It seems like everything I get into isn't in English any more, or it's incredibly out-of-print, or it's both :U

And one of the fan-scanlation groups left a (good five pages long or more) chat log on this one page they were trying to translate, and bitching about how they couldn't make it sound right, and how were they going to fill all the text bubbles, and why did the mangaka phrase his sentences the way he did. And I was just laughing to myself, thinking, Been there, done that XD

Is it sick I miss translating stuff? >.>

Tsubasa
CLAMP, why are you so confusing? Is it because I don't read xxxHolic or any of the others out there? This whole adventure is starting to feel like a ploy. Like if I want to comprehend all of what is going on, I have to read every series. And ummm don't think so. Art's still pretty though XD I am so shallow. And I can't believe Kurogane left the sword. THE SWORD. Yeah I'm all for rescuing Fai's dumb ass, but THE SWORD. I love how Fai's all "I don't need magic now, I'M A VAMPIRE ROFLCOPTERLAWLS" XD Okay, maybe not to that degree, but it was funny to me XD

And I think I'm missing pages from the newest chapter, because all of a sudden both Syaorans are in a dream world (and who is the other black-haired kid who is supposed to be like Syaoran? Was he explained earlier and I just missed it? Or is this another one of those cross-series things) and I'm left wondering how fighting and following the guy from X brought the one into the dream world and how did the other know to go there? There isn't...a flow here, really. It's like they got together and decided "We've spent enough time on Fai, let's jump back to the Syaoran/Sakura drama with no transition!"

I don't know. Maybe if I had actually reread a bit and refreshed my memory. I keep reading it, though I wish I knew how to quit you god only knows why XD

AND I think Vista has something against you. Or against all of my files, as the dumb system, for some asinine reason, decides to number things out of order when I highlight a group of files and rename them. Or decides that any file ending with (1) automatically means it should be the last file. Or different file types - even if they're still pictures - should be named differently. So if page one, two and three are JPEGs, but the following fourth, fifth and sixth pages are PNGs, I get file (1).jpeg, file (1).png, file (2).jpeg, etc etc etc. ARGH. Someone give me back my old XP. Or tell me how to turn this stupid quirk off.

One Piece
AHAHAHAHAHA OH NAKAMA I LOVE IT WHEN YOU FIGHT TOGETHER. Seriously, the whole fight against Oz, I kept thinking to myself, "It's like they're playing a game! Combo attack, combo attack, combo attack! XD" Especially Robin's little sneaky move (totally screamed out loud when I got to that page, think I freaked the dog out), it's such cut-screen material. And Luffy's reappearance (omgggg when I thought Usopp and Nami were being pummeled, I was so freaking out ;_;), totally a game cut-screen. It's Resident Evil: Thriller Bark, coming to a PS3 at a ridiculous price. And laughing my ass off at the zombies being all "OMGGG they're getting back up to fight shounen manga whut" and the Strawhats are all "IGNORE". Stereotypical shounen but still, I laugh every time.

Definitely the best part is when Oz is all "I'm stuck," and there's six simultaneous evil glints of revenge-ific doom XD Can't wait to see that animated.

Kekkaishi
Why are you all so adorable. Why. Why won't people scanalate you faster so I can read more of you.

Hitman Reborn
Finally in the TYL arc, and I don't know. Maybe I have a sick sense of humor, but the whole thing's hysterical. Or maybe melodramatic is a better word, but then there's a lot in this manga that seems melodramatic. I keep snickering at inappropriate things (Tsuna waking up in a coffin, oh lawls. Although I sobered up when TYL!Gokudera showed up looking all stunned and confused. Poor guy). And a lot of the fanfics that I read now (because I never pay attention to spoiler tags, you kidding me) are a lot more meaningful (duh) and serious. But that doesn't stop me from cracking up at the manga. Don't think that this is a good thing.

I'm toying with the idea of picking up the anime, but I don't think I'd start from the beginning (because dear god seven-some volumes of character-building-feels-like-filler was enough the first time around), but I wouldn't mind seeing how they do the fights, and also how good (or bad) the VAs sound. But I dunno. I like Reborn, but I feel like it's the same way I like Bleach - more of a passing fancy than something I'll come back to again and again. Who knows.

Read all of Hot Gimmick in two days, and I don't know. It felt like it was trying to be a slightly more incestual, shorter version of Hana Yori Dango, with a more submissive main female character. Not that I didn't like it, just not as much as I enjoyed HYD. Which is weird, given how quickly I stopped watching HYD the first time I tried to get into it. I think shoujo is just not for me. Every time I read one I keep thinking, This is nice, but when's the fighting gonna start? >D. I'm hopeless.

HG wasn't necessarily bad, and god the family-infighting/drama really hurt sometimes. Wanted to cuddle Ryoki because of some of the things, and then he'd go and be a complete dick to Hatsumi and she'd just take it, and then I wanted to smack both of them. So dunno. I'll probably try to find Fruits Basket (god help me) next, because I'm on a masochistic streak to read as many popular mangas as I can for some unknown, ungodly reason. So if anyone wants to rec me any, feel free :D :D

Also borrowed Brave Story from work (not the manga, but the novel version) and am reading that. It's pretty good, but it feels like it should be a manga. Each chapter feels like a manga chapter, like I should be viewing the characters' reactions to things, not reading it. Does that make sense? It feels transparent that they took a visual media and made it into a print one. Now watch this bite me on the ass and the book actually came out first XD

tsubasa, life ramblings, hot gimmick, animanga ramblings, noozles, hitman reborn, sky doll, kekkaishi, childhood shows stalk your brain, everyone should speak more than one lang, one piece, vista can bite me, youtube
