So, I ate at Yuki's with dad for lunch. I absolutely love hibachi. You know what, when I think about it, I actually enjoy living in Biloxi, it is a city. And we are only one hour away from two major cities, even though one is sort of knocked out of commission. I am a city boy. I don't know if I could live in the country. Just think about all that grass to mow! I like living on a little lot in a mid-sized house in a middle-class neighborhood that is established and in one of the older parts of the city and not one of those ugly, bland subdivisions that is far away from most things to do and is infiltrated with "new" money (and conservatives).
I visited with Ms. Berberette (my second grade teacher) with Amanda. She is so sweet. Definitely one of my favorite teachers in elementary school. We were talking about back then (10 years!!!! holy shit!) and I again realized why I loved Lopez. It is a neighborhood school. The teachers always stay connected with the school, it was so laid-backed, students really did come first, everybody knew each other (school was about 300, the smallest of the many public elementaries in Biloxi), teachers either taught or went to school with your parents or some other relative, everybody was really flexible, parents were so involved, a very racially mixed school (50% white, 30% black, 10% Vietnamese) with NO racism at all, a mini-utopia in some ideas. Good times I might add.
I don't understand my mom. I love that she gave me a brand new Econ book by Bernanke (the new Fed Reserve chairman), but hate that she just basically gives up her life to whomever she is married. Basically, my aunt is down from Connecticut and my grandma is having a cookout at her house. Of course, Aunt Beth is going, but mom is not (we're having shrimp scampi instead *pukes*). Why do we have to be the anti-social side of the family, so Tiny doesn't want to go, fuck him! Anyways, she is applying to become the Dean of Business Services at the college, gosh I hope she gets it. I wish she would go and get a Ph.D. That would be so awesome!
Well, I must go. I'll prolly go to grandma's house anyay. Oh gah, I have to go to Mobile tomorrow! Yikes! I forgot!
