ummm, ok, really quick run down:
1. i never moved to lafayette, instead i "organized" from a far resulting in work drama. however, my jan. 26th conference is going to be BANGIN' and i will prove just how much community food security arse i kick indeed.
2. i just got my dc placement. my #1 choice in fact. i will be working for a really incredible organization: the center for community change (
http://www.communitychange.org/) in thier low wage worker division. so excited.
3. corey and i are amazingly great despite the long distance. and that makes me happy. 8 months before i'm mrs. milline. (and before that sounds remotely normal.)
4. i'll be living in d.c. this time next month, craziness. i'm excited about reuniting with the fellows, having fam around, and being able to ride the train everywhere. i'm also not at all prepared to move again.
5. i'm going to miss some of my church people like hell. [can i even say that together?] it's hard having them be my only and bestest friends here, knowing that once i leave, it will probably be the last time i see most of them. many are only working in the states temporarily, there's always the la migra factor, they don't have the travel mobility that i do...it's rough. and, i don't know who will continue the english classes when i'm gone and they need it bad. church is really the only thing i'll miss about nola.
6. i'm still waiting on grad schools, but i should here from princeton before i leave, hopefully.
aaaannnd, that's about it. one of these days i'll take the time to thoroughly update folks...
