We start the portion of our tour where we're sponsored by a touring company, so we're in a different city every day (almost) for a month, playing a show a day (almost). I figured it up and this month, April 15 to May 15, we will drive over 7500 miles. Today, we drive for 7 hours...if the other guys will hurry the fuck up and get ready to leave. I think we do about the same tomorrow...I'll let you know soon. Day before yesterday, we left Chicago and drove for 11 hours to get to Hibbing, MN. Woof...
I'm going to try to keep this journal up to as close to every day as I can get. Some entries may be private as I vent and muse to myself, but most won't be.
Yesterday, we played a school show and a concert a Hibbing High School in Hibbing, Minnesota, which coincidentally is Bob Dylan's home town. He actually played a show on the stage we did...except he got boo'ed off said stage where we got a standing ovation...hehehe, take that hippy! It was a fun show, and the kids we played for were great. A little sophomore chick fell in love with me (just once, ONCE, why can't she be legal???), so that was a plus, I suppose. I didn't play that well personally, but no one really noticed, which is definitely a good thing.
On a different note, we signed a contract with the largest band instrument manufacturers in the world a few days ago (Conn Selmer Corporation) and will be receiving free horns and a little bit of money. Even more of a little bit for me since we will have to start paying our own bills...which means almost all of my money goes to my motherfucking car payment. If anyone knows anyone who's interested in taking over payments on a 2002 Nissan Sentra, PLEASE let me know. I need to get rid of that damn thing...it's devouring what precious little income I have!
I think I'm going to be in town for a little while in early or mid June. Don't have solid dates yet, but I should pretty soon. I look forward to seeing you guys!
Much love.
