Hi folks!

My deepest and most sincere apologies for not getting pictures of the Dr. Horrible labcoat posted from October, when Shawna Trpcic brought it to SiliCon. The three friends who took the pictures each had major issues which resulted in the loss of the photos. D'oh! HOWEVER, thanks to the intrepid waywardbound, I have a fresh set of photos that I took yesterday. Below the cut!

Initial shot of the button, taken for size.

Button on the collar, and collar size. The button has an opalescent shine to it.

Button shank.

Pocket detail measurement.

Second detail measurement on pocket.

Inside front flap. If you look closely, there are darts on the front in this model of labcoat. This one wasn't used in Dr. Horrible, but for female extras in Ariel and in Alien: Ressurection.

This is the back. The buttonholes are actually in the back of the fabric, and the buttons attached to the 'waistband'. It's folded backwards and the buttons put inside the garment for fitting.

This is an inside shot of the back of the coat. Good view of seams, pleating, and buttonholes.

Back view of the sleeve. It's a three-piece sleeve. The sleeves of this coat were made to be short; rubber bands had to be used to hold them inside of the gloves. When making this coat, you'll likely want to add more fabric. ;)

Front view of the sleeve.

From the costume designer:

--The red coat was made by dunking one of the white ones in a red dye bath. The thread shows up as white because it's polyester and didn't soak up the dye.
--The black gloves are plain rubber chemical gloves. The film makes it appear as though the rubber hand is attached to a matte-colored gauntlet.
--When wearing the red coat, the pants and boots are black.
