I am immensely proud of this! :D
I put this baby together in about a week - I modified the labcoat in one day. The reason the gloves still have the Tillman logo is because I actually picked them up at the post office on Friday morning, as we drove down to San Diego, and didn't get to sand them.
I had about 10-15 people recognize me in the Exhibition Hall, and 2-5 wanted pictures...I saw one other Dr. H, in the red coat, but I didn't get to speak to her. There were a number of Captain Hammers roaming around, and by the time I finally found the CA Browncoats booth(walked up-and-down the whole hall twice), they had sold out of the hammer shirts.
I only had one guy who just had to tell me Dr. Horrible was a terrible video. (:
But the crowning achievement was the Dr. Horrible Screening that night, which Joss & Co attended. It was loud, so I couldn't hear how many others were singing, but I know I belted every word of every song out. And I met this awesome fellow, Todd, who dressed as Captain Hammer, and we had some fun lipsyching in the isles and posing for pictures afterward. The moment that will live on forever in my memory was when the cast and crew ran by - I shook Joss's hand, and he actually stopped to look at my costume. His face just lit up, and he shouted "Hey!" - it was wonderful. I also shook Mr. NPH's hand, Jed gave me a super thumbs up, and I kind of awkwardly grabbed Maurissa's hand in one of those not-really-handshake-hand-cupping things. I don't think she was expecting that. xD I attempted to shake Felicia's hand, but she was speeding by pretty quick. After they left, Mr. Hammer and I posed for a couple of people who wanted photos:
These guys were promoting Hamlet 2!
And the Moment of Truth:
There all seemed really pleased to have been there. The entire room gave them a standing ovation as they scurried along the back wall to the exit (:
I am still in fantasy land at this point. Sorry for the blatant tooting of my own horn - btw,
therru, your caduceus blows mine out of the water! - but I was so ecstatic to be there and I don't really know what to do with myself now that it's over. So. Please forgive me |D
