Procrastination has made me her bitch today so I thought I'd do something semi-productive. (Emphasis on the 'semi')
TV round-up for this week. Under the cuts for spoilers. Posting this partly for my own reasons and partly so I don't clog up
Twitter too much!
Castle:
Firstly, I was so happy to have this show back this week. It seems ages since it was last on! I absolutely love this show, and I'm so glad I decided to watch it, even if it was just for Nathan Fillion to begin with. As much as I love Nathan, as an actor and as eye-candy, I would watch this show regardless of who was playing the lead role of Rick Castle. The plot was fantastic this week and Alyssa Milano was great as a guest star. I already loved her from Charmed, Phoebe having been one of my favourite sisters. I loved the screentime she had with Nathan and with Stana also.
Best moment of the episode: Alyssa's character Kyra telling Kate: "He's all yours".
The Kate/Rick chemistry in this episode was fantastic.
I really hope they air this show in the UK soon because I will make all of my family and friends watch it!
Sanctuary:
Wow, what a mind-blowing and emotional episode? Not a Helen/John fan by any stretch of the imagination but their scenes together were fantastic. Amanda and Chris were utterly brilliant and heartbreaking. And Amanda, well wow whoever chose that outfit deserves serious kudos!
Best moment of the episode: I loved the Kate/Biggie bonding in the elevator. I like the way Kate is fitting in. I think it's a shame so many people dislike her, mainly because she's not Ashley, because I think her character is really interesting.
CSI:
I was a little wary about CSI. It's been going down hill rapidly recently, especially with 3 of the main characters missing. The Season 10 premiere really surprised me though. Sara's return was brilliant and so well timed. The case was really interesting and I liked how they set the beginning 48 hours in the future and went back and filled in the gap. Ray is much less annoying and I liked how he used some of his experience as a criminology professor. Hodges was brilliant as always, you can't help but love him. I can't say I missed Riley one bit, and what she wrote about Catherine and her leadership made me dislike her all the more. It's a shame that the Riley thing didn't work out though because I really admire Lauren Lee Smith as an actress. Good to finally see Liz Vassey and David Berman on the credits too!
Best moment of the episode: It's a tie between Sara and Greg's 'welcome back' hug, the scene where Catherine made Nick her 'right hand' or the very sweet scene between Catherine and Sara in the locker room.
If the rest of the season carries on this way, it could be back to it's previous status of awesome television.
CSI: NY:
I actually enjoyed this less than the CSI premiere strangely enough. The Danny/Lindsay scenes were lovely but the case seemed a bit weak, but that might have just been me. Flack played his grief really well too, very realistic. Still not sure how I feel about this Stella/Adam scenario but I did like the new character Haylen. Sarah Carter is a great actress and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her this season.
Best moment of the episode: Danny getting the feeling back in his foot and it starting to rain. So beautiful.
NCIS:
This surprised me the most. The Season 5 finale pretty much devastated me and I wondered how they could possibly carry out with the team split up and, for me, the show wasn't going to be the same without Jenny or the Jenny/Gibbs interaction. When the episode started and I saw the new team sat where the old team should be, I was worried they were going to do what they did in House, aka fuck up the show, at least in my opinion.
This episode was completely genius though. It was so clever and the twist with Vance was brilliant. (Although I hated Rocky Carroll's name being on the credits where Lauren Holly's should've been!)
The preview for next week's episode looks brilliant and I'm really excited about this season now!
Best moment of the episode: The McGee/DiNozzo/Gibbs interaction via video link to the ship Tony's stationed on. Oh, team. <3
So all in all a wonderful week of TV. Looking forward to the season finale of Sanctuary this week (how quickly has that come around?!) and the Season 6 premiere of Grey's Anatomy on Thursday.
