Three things about "UP"
Carly and I watched Pixar's "UP" last night. I have three stray observations about the movie.
1. If the movie ended as soon as the old man released the balloons to make his house fly, then this would have been the greatest animated short of all time. I wouldn't be willing to hear arguments on the subject.
2. I'm fairly certain that Pixar wanted to one up the whole "Bambi's mother being shot" emotional tearjerker scene. Alternately, I was considering just writing the following: "Jesus fucking christ, Pixar! Way to stab us in the heart." It's Jurassic Bark times a hojillion.
3. I am also convinced that at least one of the pixar animators created an alternate cut where the old man hangs himself after the first ten minutes or so of the movie.
