A couple of days ago, the 14th I believe, I get a letter from my Doctor. Apparently, I have a stress test booked for Thursday August 17th, 2006 because the EKG I took back in like NOVEMBER/DECEMBER of last year! looked abnormal.
Of course, I didn't doubt it was abnormal. The bed was about 5ft long and 2ft wide providing me a sliver to lay on. Didn't help the bed was pressed against the side of the wall and all the while the nurse is telling me to, "Relax, close your eyes it won't take long." I was sweating just trying to keep myself stable on this modern torture device.
Thursday was the ultimate in heart exams first, an Echo Cardiogram (they don't sing to your heart on its birthday) So I have a lovely young Indian technician performing the test, asks me to strip waist up lay on a bed. She starts the test pressing the wand into my chest and moving it back and forth finding a location to get a good picture of my heart.
During this she asks me to flip on my left side, I obey. But apparently not all the way left, so now I'm starting to sweat trying to keep my balance at a 45 degree angle while she's pulling me toward her.
She runs out of the lubricating gel she's using on my chest... moving the wand she is pushing so hard it actually is getting uncomfortable. She moves to the left catching my nipple and giving quite the tweak. It's now Friday morning, my chest is KILLING ME!
The Stress Test was next... long story short. I got patches of chest hair removed. I got razor burn. I sweat, then had to quit the test at the 9 minute mark. My calves were toast! They kept telling me to walk fast, but the speed of the machine warranted a slow jog. Well anyway I nearly collapsed due to my calves being lit up.
That's my Thursday in a nutshell. Terribly written. But it'll do.
