The way things are

There's been a transition. After stepping off Ringmaster Joel's Cotton Candy Carousel of Magic & Money, I've been stumbling a bit, dizzy from irrevocable sights and sounds. The "this is my Bible" chant haunts and follows my soul to its end. God doesn't want that.

I've found that oftentimes while writing, my the direction veers back towards God and Jesus Christ. Is that a crutch? Is this my version of the perpetual deux ex machina "God did it"? Or it is possible that everything humankind has to say, every thought and idea, every commentary, every song, every note, every color, every night, every trace of life and beauty, is forever linked back to the reason for it all? It would make sense. In fact, it is sense. God, help me to understand that being taught your Word and your very soul isn't an outside concept but rather a supernatural alignmenet of my mind with THE WAY THINGS ARE.

Colossians 1:16 - For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

"All things" covers a fair amount of ground, most notably ALL OF IT. So no, it's not a crutch, its the way things are. This is macro. I haven't had the mind yet to investigate all the complexities and failings of humanity (Sin! Fun-manity!) but I know that if I ever follow up on such a hopeless notion that I will look through the prism of two shades of light: black and white. Where does God's love exist and where does it not? It's hard to delineate but if I had to guess from all I've read and all I've been taught, I would assume that God isn't a kinda-sorta-maybe God but more of the ABSOLUTE type. We're so misguided in our "wisdom" as to be borderline idiot savants most hours of the day, if you really wanted to keep it real, so our discernment won't come from our minds alone. That's right, God's gonna help us, ya'll! Welcome to GodBusters! Who you gonna call?!

So darkness and light, we've gotta know them. There's a lot of people that believe this method of thinking to be simplicity defined. It is. But it's just the way things are.
