Grammar is God. It is against grammatical law to capitalize the word "me" in a sentence, whereas, for the names of all others, it is imperative to capitalize the first letter of their names, allowing them to stand apart from the rest of the words in your paragraphs. Run-on sentences also come generally ill-advised, but whaddayagonnadoo?
The year brought me a lot, and took a lot too. Not anything terrible, just some white people problems is all. Don't get me wrong, it gave much much more than I could possibly deserve. God is good, friends are here, family is wonderful. I cannot minimize the importance of the year that gave me such beauty and pains. I broke a lot of things, but along the way I managed to make a thing or two. It counts for, maybe not a lot, but for a little bit. It must. I'll remember the encapsulation of the kind of frenzy the year got me tossed into, Gmail chatting my mom with an eBay link to 2 GA tickets for a show in Omaha, ignoring virtually every word the teacher said. I'll remember not being able to walk without pain around for two weeks in April. Summer blurs without the use of proper landmarks and milestones to the experience. Journaling is entirely more important than some might give it credit for. Your memories are as much a part of your identity as anything else. 2009, you have the stiffest of competition but I have faith in your abilities as a year. I'll take you as you come.
