Have you read "A Great and Terrible Beauty" and the other two books n the trilogy? They're set in Victorian England, and they're good (I haven't had the chance to read the last one, but I'm assuming it's good). My favs are Harry Potter, which I'm assuming you've read, "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrel" (by Susannah Clarke), "Howl's Moving Castle" by Diana Wynne Jones, anything by Jane Austen, "Jane Eyre," "The Thief Lord", the "Inkheart" trilogy, "Franny and Zoeey".....okay, I guess that's more than enough, isn't it?? Sorry, you brought up books and I got carried away.
If you liked sickened and you haven't already read it, ugly by constance briscoe is really good and there's also a similar book called a piece of cake by cupcake brown.

um... I love stuff about Victorian England, or things like Jodi Picoult's novels.
and memoirs like "sickened" and "when the piano stops" are always really intersting things to read.
how about your favorites? maybe I can give those a try. :)
