A couple of times now I've picked up an interest in a film which I knew would end in trouble. The first was a film called
Anatomie 2, about some doctors who do hideous research on themselves in the name of scientific progress and creating a superbeing. There was a lot of blood and death and gore. I read about the film for a long time, knowing full well I probably wouldn't like it, but my curiosity would not leave me alone and eventually I bought it. I *hate* horror films and I'm rubbish at watching them; I'm too jumpy and I can be quite squeamish. I did really enjoy Anatomie 2 in the end, and eventually bought
Anatomie, which was more gory and still makes me feel a little sick.
The subject of
The Human Centipede came up on Facebook a couple of days back and I watched the trailer. I'm fascinated by the concept of attaching three people by their digestive tracts and I keep reading about the film to find out what happens, despite the fact the trailer makes me feel ill and I'm having funny dreams. I'm certain this is lots worse than Anatomie. I wish I could leave it alone but my brain just keeps coming back to it. I want to watch it and I don't want to watch it. The question annoying me now is... which is going to win?
