I am staring at two possible occupations for the night. Today, I broke down and bought God of War used at EB for $17.99. Yey smart Caitlin for just-so-happening to have a PS2 memory card of her own here, so all I have to do is unearth the wire for the controller so I may have some manner of free movement. We only ever watch DVDs on the PS2, so it just kinda has to sit by the bed normally. Meanwhile, I was talking to my old buddy Gerald, who seems to have gotten himself sucked in to a new life of MMORPG addiction in the form of Second Life, and wants me to follow him into the abyss. This is a user-built world of live-as-you-please, kinda like The Sims Online, I guess. And its free to play, though of course you can pay real-world monies for land and game monies with upgraded accounts. But even that's only like $9.95 a month, compared to your standard $12-$13 fees for stuff of this nature. What's crazy about this game is that alledgedly, people are making real-world money from this game, providing "goods" and services. Set that aside, freaking colleges are offering some of their real, credited CLASSES in this game. It was on the news and everything an while back. Now, normally I'd cry "Not my computer!" and forget about it. (Need... own...lappy...) But the download is only 35mb. o.O That's absurdly small for something with graphics like screenies make this look like it has.. Even RO took like a gig all told. So it wouldn't be making a huge intrusion... Meh, I don't even know if this little thing could run something like that, and it still isn't mine. And I have God of War.
Other than that, life is quiet.. Marcus and I have been eating at Woody's. I think he likes going there because he knows it drives me crazy to not get up and work. >_> But the food is still delicious, and everyone certainly knows my name. Besides, it was all-you-can-eat spare ribs and $1.75 draft beer day. A day built for Men like Marcus. I had the baby back ribs out of sheer curiousity. Oh Ye Gods. They were freaking amazing. @_@ I was reminded why I work there. Other restaurants may send their girls home smelling less like meat and sauce, or with more tippage in their aprons, but I have great faith in what I serve at Woody's. Our food is just really good. Unless of course you hate BBQ. In which case you are an unAmerican commie pinko bastard. <3 =P
Monday I had to leave the d20 game early to go to work, so I said that my character had to do a show in which she fought two midgets. While I was gone, those idiots got themselves wanted for murder without ever actually killing...the person they were accused of killing. XD Still, work was busy. I didn't make amazing amounts of money, but they really did need me in there.
And uhhh.. yeah! Thus is life! Isn't it grand? Jessica bought a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer off of eBay. 1) Ooooh shiney I wanna ride! 2) Damn. That girl is officially Queen of All EBay.
