My medschool classmate shared to me a song that made me realize that a Tagalog song of worship can be beautiful too. Hearing it made me realize that it might be a good practice to actually worship in Filipino once in a while. There are some emotions and allegories unique to the Filipino tongue. I don't know about you, but the real beauty of this song is in its simplicity. The imagery is simple yet, the words used to convey it puts so much depth into it. "Ako'y mananahan sa piling mo" would also create the same image as "ako'y titira sa tabi mo" (literally it would mean the same thing). To say it as such puts some sort of emotion or deepness into it. It just doesn't mean "being in proximity of Him" but you get the sense of being dependent on him.
Its so hard to explain. It is something that you just know when you speak the language. (The funny thing is that I don't know what mananahan and piling meant literally. So I had to Google it, but I knew the moment I looked at the phrase what it meant)
