Few Words

I'm so surprised that a few words from somebody could totally de-motivate you and basically destroy your day. It was a frustrating day. I couldn't get myself to listen in class so I ended up going out of the room to get some fresh air. Those few ugly words tended to linger on my thoughts for the rest of the day.

My classmate Eloise noticed me sitting on a table outside of the classroom. She asked me as to what is wrong? I ended up telling her my story and she comforted me and told me that I shouldn't let such things bring me down. I was touched by her kindness and so I decided to head back to class.

The recent turn of events has made me question my faith a bit. It's as if Non-Christians might actually be more kinder or have more capability of showing compassion than most Christians ever did. I guess being Christian doesn't really make us nicer. Sometimes I feel that some Christians have a tendency to become proud that they feel they can treat certain people like trash. We keep on saying phrases like: "I don't see why people do this" or "I can't imagine why people smoke"  or "It's a good thing that I'm not associated to this (evil) person" or "You affirmed my decision not to be friends with you". The problem is sometimes, we never take the time to know the person and appreciate the good in him/her. The funny thing is that I myself am guilty of this... Sadly.

I'm not surprised anymore why some people still feel repulsed by Christianity. I don't think the problem is with Christ and what he did, it's more of because of those who profess to believe in Him.

doubt., faith, christianity
