like a virgin part 2

dear elchay,

after 4 long months of waiting, i finally got a job. and today was my first day at work. i was nervous and excited. i prayed my social skills would kick in. got to the office at 8am sharp and just my luck, the fire alarm went off and we had to vacate the building. great, i thought. a sign of things to come. anyway, after about an hour of shooting the shit with some of the office people, we went back up and i was brought to my desk which is huge and empty. design project! after i settled in, my boss toured me around and introduced me to some other people. cute count, 2. then i head off to h.r. where i spent an hour getting briefed. then i sat down with my boss to brief me on my account (which is smirnoff by the way and i don't know how to tell them i don't drink). i get introduced to the owner and other people. cute count so far, 4 total. then another hour with my senior art director for another briefing about the creative system. when i got to my cubicle i had a splitting headache. i was hungry. and i was motherfucking tired.

anyway, later in the afternoon, worked stopped as the company was launching the office olympics. there were 2 kegs of guiness, shitloads of smirnoff twisted, cookies, cake, chips, candies and carrot sticks for the health conscious. our team won the tug-of-war competition. the owner, who is a very attractive italian man was behind me. he was so hot except that he had nail fungus. gross. but it was fun. but very american. i don't know how i'm going to be able to be jologs here. in fact, i probably won't ever. i'm the only filipino but there is another asian girl. plus, i think i'm the only gay guy in the office. all the guys are calling me dude and offering me beer and smokes. jesus.

anyway, it's 6pm and there's no one here. my kinda office. so that was it, really. my first day as a new employee. pretty good, actually. especially since there are about 4 cute guys here.

so on that note, i'm off to get some groceries, go home and enjoy some cheesy t.v.

love,
mikey p.
