Andrew didn't mind having the flat to himself which, lately, was having much more frequently. He was used to Terry spending long weekends away in Paris with his girlfriend Daphne, but ever since she had moved back to London it felt like he had completely moved out. It was becoming more clear that the idea of Terry finally moving out and taking the next step with her was drawing near. Though, Drew couldn't blame him. They had been together for almost eight years now.
Though, as Drew cleaned up his desk at work at the end of the day, he realized he didn't want to go home to an empty flat. He didn't want to eat dinner alone on the sofa in front of the television to pass the time. It wasn't unusual for him to become for of a hermit during the winter months when it was too cold for a round of football at the park. The most outside activity he had was his morning job and that, still, didn't leave much room for social interaction. It was time he stopped spending every weekday just waiting for the next party on Saturday night or Terry reappearance.
Jonah,
I know you don't have practice today and I have Chinese take-out.
Come keep your cousin company.
- Drew
After sending out his owl, Drew put on his coat and headed out. It was cold and dreary outside - exactly the kind of weather he hated. It was only a few blocks to his favorite take-out spot with a deserted alley behind it, perfect for apparating back into his apartment. The less time Drew had to stay out here or become victim to public transportation during peak hours, the better. It didn't take very long for Drew to be back inside his warm apartment, actually setting up the dining table (rather than plopping on the sofa to eat alone) while watching the fireplace for Jonah's arrival.
