Diagon Ally - open

There was something troubling Andrew Kirke. He really didn't understand what it was but ever since the Quidditch World Cup he found himself with a knot in his stomach. It was something that running or sketching just couldn't shake. Being home didn't help either. Amanda, who was usually so bubbly and devious, sulked around nearly dreading her time at Hogwarts now. Their mother just didn't know what to do to get her excited again. Then, of course, there was Terry who was an entirely different story.

Even though Drew wanted to get away from all of the choas, he really wasn't sure where to go. His mates from home didn't know that he was part of this magical world so he couldn't talk to them. It was better to avoid them all together. So the only other place Drew thought to go was Diagon Ally. At least there he wouldn't be questioned for his sulking.

So Drew packed up his things and headed straight to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour for his sweet tooth. After settling in with his double chocolate ice cream sundea, he took out his notepad and began to sketch the people walking past. It was such a busy day, even after all the news that had come out. He was a little bit surprised but it made a good sketch.

He let his mind wander, both to the news and to his family. He couldn't believe so many people had been injured and killed that weekend. It was also hard to imagine little Dennis Creevy not bouncing around the common room in the fall or how this was change his older brother.

Running his hand through his shagging brown hair, Drew sighed. Family was so complicated. He missed the simplicity of his childhood. And now he had a stepfather that came with an agnsty stepbrother (though he was warming up). And now there was the possibility of a stepmother and two step sisters. Ever since his date with Mandy and their run in with Rebecca. He had shoved it off for so long...but after all the choas, he was thinking it might be time to finally return some of his dad's calls.
