Today's picture of the day is from
Brazil.
In television interviews with MSNBC and on the CBS "Late Show with David Letterman," Crowe chalked up Monday's outburst at a New York hotel to the strain of loneliness and frustration at being unable to get calls through to his wife in Australia.

CNN I mean did I call it or did I call it?
So one of the ladies I work with just had a baby boy. He's probably the most adorable baby since that kid named Drew that was born in the great year of 1983. Amy doesn't read this, but congratulations anyway.

twoAn era is soon to end. I will be leaving the Hoover Public Library on July the 20th. I talked to Ben about it last night, and I can't remember what it was like my freshman year to get out of class and have the whole afternoon just to chill. I can't remember not having to schedule around working every other weekend. I sort of feel like I'm retiring for a short period, and I'm excited about that. I'll be getting a job again next January, after I graduate and start graduate school at UAB, but until then I'll be enjoying the simple life. I've saved my money to be able to do this, and for it to be six weeks away is a nice thing to think about.
I think my stress level will be a lot lower as well. I thought about it the other day, and I'm the first AKL president to maintain a job that I can remember. Sure, Tony was an RA and Michael worked with his construction job on occasion, but it's not the same. Variable hours vs. set hours.
I'm meeting Gina for lunch today before she drives to Calera to babysit. We're going to Quizno's, which you might have seen me
laud previously. Yeah, I'm in a good mood.
Today is casual day at work. Every Thursday we wear our summer reading program shirts. Today I, as well as all the other employees, am wearing a black shirt with the words "read-iculous" on the front. That's our theme. It's so bad it's good.
I heard the U2 song
Pride (In The Name of Love) on the radio the other day, and for first time I realized it's talking about the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the betrayal of Jesus Christ.
