Got to sleep in today. Got up around 11ish and after I ate we headed over to Sea World. Started off with the “Believe” show (cause what’s a trip to Sea World without Shamu?) Then we went and checked out the Budweiser Clydesdales. After visiting the Anheuser Busch Hospitality Center, where we tried some free beer :) :) (I tried Budweiser Select. Yes you read that right, they give it out in free plastic cups…MMMM. We followed the beer tasting up with lunch (some great roasted chicken, corn, fries, and a role.) (Only on vacation can you drink beer before lunch…with your dad…:) )
After lunch my dad and I took part in the Brewmaster’s Club. We sampled four different types of beer. (I tried Bud Extra (A caffeinated beer with raspberry flavoring, almost reminded me of Bawls…) Land Shark Lager (Jimmy Buffet’s beach beer) Michelob Ultra Amber (GOOD) and Stone Mill Ale (an organic beer). They alos had a food pairing with each beer. Mmm. Lasted for about half an hour or so. The girl that did our small group (Six people standing around what looked like a black jack table) really knew her stuff and was fun to talk to about all things related to beer. We even got a set of cards with beers and the suggested food pairings for them.
After the beer tasting we went through the Shark encounter (an underwater tube through a tank full of sharks. Saw Shamu’s underwater view area, saw the penguins (yay!) and finished with Dolphin cove and the manatee rescue. Touched a stingray on the way out also.
We’re going back early tomorrow because there’s just too much for one day. We’re gonna go on Saturday before heading home too, cause the roller coaster is closed ‘til then for maintenance.
We’re watching TV now and eating Pizza (frozen this time, both of our tries to order out have been total failures… :( ) I’m thinking of heading down to one of the hot tubs for some more relaxing.
