[The mirror is startled, to put it lightly. There's a look of quiet shock, the kind usually found on those who have suffered a near-death experience and are now marveling at the fact that they are still alive.

After all, without the original...the reflection shouldn't exist.]

And yet...

[Nearby is a mirror, but when Simon looks in...there's ( Read more... )

I'm bored. Everyone interesting went to the other side to scare people, but I'm waiting until the real ones on this side wake up so I can scare them.

Where'd you go?

So I heard. I have to admit, I'm a little jealous.

'Away' is the best answer I can give. But it feels so good to be back...

You could come back with me! Couldn't you?

Simon...

I missed you so much.

[There are some things between the mirror and her original that are still the same: when she hurls herself at Simon now, that's one of them

Of course, the fact that she makes for a little lumpy armful of girl because of multiple weapons hidden on her person is different, but.]

I'd like that--

[He was ready for the added weight...it wasn't the first time Eiko's mirror had done something like this. And Simon is very careful to make sure none of the sharper weapons are too close to his body when he holds her.]

Aiya...easy.

[He smiles at her.]

You're too sweet to me, Eiko.

[Big skirts or not, she's still only just over twelve-- physically, anyway. she's small enough that she can easily tuck herself against Simon, smiling widely.

For him, she doesn't mind being a little more childish. She wraps her arms around his neck and clings like a great ruffled barnacle.]

Don't go again. Promise.

You know my rules, Eiko...

[He folds his hands together, making a seat for her to rest on, making the cumbersome bundle less so.]

'Never make a promise you don't know if you can keep.'

... I know.

[Still, it was worth trying. She pulls her face away so she can look at him, deadly serious.]

But you also promised you'd marry me when I grow up. And got famous.

For being an actress.

[He looks back at her, eyebrows lifted up and smiling harmlessly.]

Of course I'll keep that one.

[After she's grown up, and become famous, because she's an actress...it's all in the details.]

[If they weren't mirrors, Simon might almost be vaguely unsettled by the slight glint of mania that comes into Eiko's eyes.

But they are mirrors. Insanity and fervent irrationalit is part of the job description.]

That's right. So don't go marrying anyone else!

[To Simon, Eiko's 'unique' view of the world and how things work is just a charming quirk. For a mirror like him, it's just something to manipulate...one promise, and the girl would do anything Simon asked of her.]

Never.
