Edwardian walking skirt diary #3

The skirt is done! I'm so proud of myself. Pictures below the cut, as always.

Gathers in the back panels. As you might have gathered. Ahahahaha.

Completed waistband!

Completed waistband at the back, held closed.

Completed waistband at the back, now open.

The button of choice for the waistband! I think these are gorgeous - I'm using the brass colored ones on the right.

Fully completed skirt back with button and everything.

And surprise! I'm actually using a hook and bar under the button, to distribute the strain of the closure a bit more evenly. Fooled ya, huh?

The completed product! (Or close enough. Technically, this is the skirt pre-closure and pre-hemming, but I'm wearing the blouse that I'll be wearing for the event, and honestly I'm too tired to change back into it and take another picture right now.)

Tada! I'm done! Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement! Next bits of this costume to be worked on are the Regency spencer, and then the hat. Might diary those also. :)

Also - I don't particularly like the cutwork embroidery pattern included, but am trying to find another form of decoration that would be appropriately steampunk/period and is not embroidered gears. Recommendations and suggestions greatly appreciated.
