Yes, you read that right. There is a wildfire in the foothills of Boulder. We evacuated as soon as we saw the smoke. They have now evacuated the area where we were living. Winds are at about 45 mph, which means they are fanning the flames and planes cannot take off to help fight it. At last check it was 2200 acres and growing. The entire Front Range is covered with smoke.
Our horses are nowhere near it (they are about 30 miles of Boulder) and are safe. We have our dogs and cats with us. We have found a motel for the night and will figure out what to do in the morning. Dawn and I are hanging in there as this is very difficult for us, as you can imagine. Our animals are incredible troopers and are all laying around, taking it in stride.
Please keep everyone in your prayers, especially the firefighters, animals and people who have homes in the area.
