I'm a fucking idiot.
My phone got stolen. I hadn't used it in a month (and so hadn't noticed it was stolen) because it was costly-cheap tacky plastic crap, so I used my old rubberized Nokia instead. Didn't check on it, didn't really realise it was missing. Now some [lots of unconstructive swearing] has run up £3000 of calls to Nigeria which I'm apparently liable for.. unless the police phone investigation team can do something about it, which I presume won't happen.
I can go on some kind of long-term payment scheme apparently, maybe a year long. But that's pretty much all of the non-essential money from my wage for the year. No holiday and no extravagant purchases for a year or more -- well, there's worse happens at sea, and I can still pay my rent. I also broke my bed when I found out what had happened. I didn't think I'd kicked it that hard.
