Our June challenges are: father and sun.
Oh yes, I did make a bit of a pun there, didn't I? ;)
Father's Day is this month, so it seemed like a fitting theme! Harry's father was -- and is, and always will be -- very important to him. What sort of Father's Days did they share together? What does he do on that day, or any day, to honor his father now?
What sort of father do you think Harry would make? What about Morgan? Or Bob?
As for Murphy, we've met her father (in the show, at least). Explore her relationship with him, or with the father of her own daughter.
A father could be a client, a victim, or a villain. A father can be a priest, or God. A father can be blood related or not, whether by adoption, marriage, or friendship and love.
The other challenge is sun. (Yes, sun, not son!) Sun is probably the thing we most associate with summer. Brilliant sunlight and scorching heat -- the sun can be both friend and foe. Playing in a sunlit park, tanning on the beach, suffering in the desert... The sun is there in the winter, too, either providing cold light or some warmth on an otherwise chilly day. It peaks out from behind storm clouds, transforming the world.
The sun can be used as a metaphor, too -- a smile as bright as the sun, or heat as hot as its core.
Brighten our days with your stories, but do it by June 30! (Due to the lateness of this post, however, I'll make an extension if someone asks.)
As always, if you have comments or suggestions for future challenges, reply to this or any admin post. :)
father,
sun,
