Desert Rain
It's funny. All summer, I complained about rain, but, now, I'm at home, it's raining, and I'm happy. I think because it is so rare here, people really appreciate it. Oh, and it smells a whole heck of a lot different. That's mainly what I miss about the desert... the smell when it rains. Yankee Candle doesn't make that scent. I think it's mostly creosote and sage... maybe I'll make that suggestion to them. :)
Not too much else is going on. I've spent a lot of time with Carlyn, and that's nice. It's hard to live across the country from the person outside of your family who knows you best. When I think about constants in my life (again, outside of family), I see Carlyn and Byron. They are they two people who would drop everything in a minute if I needed them. I suppose we are all bonded by our hatred for and bad experiences at Desert Vista High School all those years ago (plus Carlyn and I went to NAU together). Anyhow, she is planning her wedding, and I'm helping out as best I can.
In a few hours, I'll go pick up my parents, and we will be on our way to San Carlos, Mexico to go SCUBA diving. We only get to dive for one day, and it's 8 hours each way. But, I'm sure it will be well worth it. It's so relaxing to be underwater with the fishies. If you haven't been, you should try it out. It's like a whole other world. I tend to forget that I'm underwater. Sigh... good times.
So, I leave here on Tuesday, and I'm sorry to those AZ people that I didn't meet up with. I'll be back soon enough. Oh, and I didn't want to interrupt NAU's RA training... haha... suckers :). So, I'm off. I'll talk to everyone soon!
