what up?!
Nothin too cool is goin in here right now, but you're probably bored if you're reading this anyway, so here goes!
Today was my day off, but I somehow managed to work for 6 hours. Does that make a lot of sense? No. But it had to be done because no one else had made the dessert for the banquet tonight. It wasn't so bad. I was able to make something other than bread and I worked during the day. It's an amazing difference to work during the day and be done in the evening... I had totally forgotten that system. Anywho, so after I worked on my day off, I chilled for awhile, then went and swam across the lake and back. That felt fantastic! It only takes 25-30min to get there and back and I think I've decided that I'm going to do the route at least twice a day if it's nice outside. The water is eerily warm... probably filled to the brim with kid pee, but what are ya gonna do? I don't like swimming all that way alone because there is a monstrous snapping turtle who hangs around, but luckily I haven't met him on a swim yet. If I suddenly stop updating for a considerable period of time without giving a reason for the absence, please send a search party out to the lake, steal my body back from mr. turtle, and bury me gently (not here). Thanks a milliarde!
As for other news, the weather up here was lovely today. Warm and sunny but not scorching, and no humidity (thank your diety!). Oh and I officially do have a new baking partner, Dieter, for the second half of the summer. wOOt! We're gonna tear it up. Plus, Brian "Gunther" Dutcher Extraordinaire will be back for a few weeks to help us out and get Dieter trained up. The down side of second half, is that Thorsten will be back (as of tonight... damn), and I still don't know how I'll handle it. Maybe I will feed him to the turtle. Yes, will do. Ok... I'm getting really sleepy even though it's only 8:30. Time to hang out with the Betreuerschaft one last night at Waldsee... then bedtime. Mmmmmm....
