Minister's Log
I was appointed to a new position tonight as Youth Pastour. Both myself and my wife will be the Youth Leaders. Most of the teens I will have charge have significant special needs: FAS, complications from chromasonal damage due to Maternal prepartum drug use, chotic homelife, mentally ill parenting, I think that only one family out of the many that is actually "normal". The congregation I am on staff with is basically poor working class, so this may not be too out of line. The church it self is located in a good neighborhood, but for some reason, few to none of the neighbors actually attend, most are from poorer working class neighborhoods and housing developments. I am sure the reason for this may have to do with the congragation's history with bad/self serving pastours.
The only thing I really want to do in my new job, is simply to make a positve difference to the youth I have the opportunity to cross paths with.
My prayer is LORD please don't let me screwup this new charge and let these kids down.
