"Live from the Vatican!"

Yes, I spent Sunday night drinking tea and watching a rebroadcast of the Pope's Palm Sunday Mass (err, I guess we are calling it Passion Sunday now?) so that I could see Sib3 for a grand total of, perhaps, three minutes. I got to see him carrying palms and doing something with the censor before someone else handed it off to the Pope and then several flashes of him distributing communion to the crowd. It was Mom and me sitting around, with me trying to reread Mansfield park (from my old Austen set that's still at Mom's house)and watch for shiny heads at the same time. Every so often one of us would squeal, "is that him?". No wonder the boy was watching Food Network in the other room.

That's one more reason we should never have cable/satellite at home: The Boy would never do anything other than watch Food Network and Astros games. At least his odds of being a professional chef are far better than his odds of becoming a professional baseball player!

If by some odd chance you were watching, the 50-something balding but fit-looking priest with the Oakleys on was my brother - yes I jest cause I know you weren't watching - I was barely watching - and there were about 200 priests there, most in sunglasses of some kind!

still catholic, sibs
