Years and years and years ago when The Boy was tiny and I was on the road several times a week in my caregiver guise we found a CD set of D'aulaires Book of Greek Myths read by Sydney Poitier, Paul Newman, Kathleen Turner, and Matthew Broderick. It is an unabridged narration of that collection (which is entertaining and relatively complete if not unflawed) and it became one of our audiobook mainstays. Right up there with the Star Wars radio play and the awesome Dirk Cently audiobooks (which I had on cassette tape and have not survived!).

I thought of it the other day when a segment popped up on iTunes in shuffle mode and again this morning during a discussion on audiobooks. Thought I'd share.
