Pets the pretty, pretty screen

So I've been messing with my LJ off and on all day but am behind on my flist, how weird is that? I FINALLY updated my journal and Yay! I can haz tag cloud... and all. Honestly, when LJ first trotted out their S2 designs all of them required an upgrade to at least Plus account status and I'm a relic of 2005 when you could still have a free basic account without any ads. I've no idea why I went to look earlier but - hey - about half the S2 stuff is open now. It probably has been for years.

Anyway, I have a lovely green journal that is almost the exact color of my bedroom walls (which I actually didn't notice until just now...I guess I have fairly specific tastes) and has nifty features that I'll actually use. Did I mention that it's green?

I spent a good bit of the afternoon playing with tags since I didn't really bother with them for the first couple of years here. It was fun to take a little jaunt through my posts and take note of what I did and did not document. Of course, I was still keeping a handwritten journal until about eighteen months ago when I mostly moved my ravings over here - under locked posts. I do not seem to have censored myself when I made the move from pen to keyboard - I was wondering about that.

So, altogether a rather introspective afternoon after a somewhat productive morning and a tasty lunch meeting at Mandola's (where I, thankfully, just had to provide a couple of answers about salary survey matching and one about non-monetary compensation and mostly let everyone else talk) I'm feeling loads better but not well enough to actually WANT to have been there so I was happy to be able to fade into the background. I also brought half my veggie panini home to an appreciative teen and stopped at the bakery counter for a half dozen pignolis to the delight of both my guys. I had thought to freeze them but will be lucky to even get one at the rate they are disappearing.

And now, though I owe a bunch of people emails and comments, I am finishing my darjeeling and heading off to bed, determined to kick the remains of this cold to the curb in time for a fun weekend.

made of win, the future is now
