Not dead yet...

...just busy like a crazy busy thing. Too busy to come up with good metaphors, I guess.

Off to NYC tomorrow to cheer Dave in the NY Marathon on Sunday.

Have tickets to new Horton Foote play on Broadway for Saturday night, for which Amazing!Niece did the prop buying. Seriously. When we were chatting in July she'd just gotten the script and said it was about a nutty Houston matriarch and her heirs and I said "sounds like a Horton Foote play" (OMG my fave) and there was this long weird pause on the line (during which she may have had to readjust her image of her Aunt Dremiel, or not, after all it's Horton Foote: Trip to Bountiful, Young Man from Atlanta, 1918, On Valentines' Day, the screenplay for To Kill a Mockingbird...) and then she said, "Actually, it IS a Horton Foote play" SQUEE!

Expected to be moved to write after last Saturday's Ray LaMontaigne show but it was not all that great and I didn't wanna just get on here to dis Ray and his legion of obnoxious fans. Sigh. I am afeared that some folk do not understand that behaviour that may be perfectly acceptable at ACL is not appropriate in a concert hall setting.

BTW 365@45 is dead.dead.dead and I am made of total fail - I'll throw the whole story up someday. I am still getting images up (slowly) and will likely blog some of my favorites but short of buying a new camera (again) in the middle of my Phoenix conference I was not going to keep up with the everyday part and am unwilling to fudge it. I may still end up with 365 uploaded by my birthday but I'm not going to pretend that any of them are from the great two week blackout in September. So, umm, go me for honesty at least.

scarred but smarter, life is messy, 365@45, three chords and the truth, don't mess with texas, wanderlust
