Moving Fun...

So, remember about a week ago I rented an apartment? I thought I might keep you all apprised of how things are progressing so far. Well, I've made a shopping list, bought a blender and walked through Ikea with a stunned look on my face. Oh wait, I also ordered a phone line. Well, actually crimsonsketch called Bell for me and handed me the receiver when it ( Read more... )

How powerful does a blender need to be? I'm not mixing cement in it!

Speaking of blenders, my mom buys one of those Magic Bullets on a whim. You know the ones i'm talking about. They were all over the infomercials for the longest time. The big sellng feature is that it's small so you can magically make only one serving at a time. Why this is a good thing I don't know. You can use a regular blender to do that - just don't fill it up so much! And if you ever want to make more than one serving, well, sorry, that's not the Magic Bullet way.

She really gets fished in by these goofy crazes. I told you about the yellow 'livestrong' bracelets she wanted to buy everyone in the family. I was able to nix that initiative because she doesn't know how to use this crazy internet thing everyone is talking about, so she asked me to order them for her. I just pretended there was some 'virus' that prevented me from doing it and then I bided my time until she got distracted by some other fad.

She also bought everyone a 'candle in the wind' CD single for Christmas when Princess Diana died.

Sheesh!

Okay, back to the magic bullet blender. I make myself this smoothie on the weekend. Yes, i know i'm a hypocrite for slagging the Bullet and then using it. In go a few mixed berries, peach yogurt, frozen blueberries, some orange flavoured Metamucil for regularity, milk, and lots of stawberries - pretty darned tasty. I would have put in some lichen powder or whatever that green stuff was that you let me try the other day, but I'll save that purchase until I move out (now there's something to motivate me). So I'm enjoying my smoothie until I start chewing down on this rubbery mass. I assumed it was a stem of some sort, but in actual fact it was part of the MB. The gasket seems to have been dislodged during the blending process and turned my smoothy (is it smoothy or smoothie?) into a good source of my daily nutritional intake of silicone.

Oh, and about moving in this weekend. Uh, no.
Firstly, I havent arranged for a way to move the big stuff (like my bed and...well, that's probably all the big stuff I have).
Secondly, because shut up. I'm not afraid. You are!
