HP: No Way to Run a Railroad, or an Online Store

Feb 03, 2010 12:57

A litany of complaints about shopping at hp.com

1. The Home/Home Office store and the Small Business store do not share login credentials.

2. The Home/Home Office store and the Small Business store do not share product lines and overlap only in limited areas.

3. The Home/Home Office store offers Free Next Business Day* on a $500 toner order. The Small Business store does not offer free shipping at any speed on a $500 monitor order.

*Because you are only in your home or home office during business hours, obviously.

4. Even though, mirabile dictu, the Small Business store and the Home/Home Office store both carry toner for your printer*, the Small Business store does not offer the same instant rebate that the Home/Home Office store does.

*The printer cost less than a full load-out of toner does. But that is for a different litany.

5. The Small Business store does not offer you any way to edit your profile after you have discovered that conforming to the requirements for the billing address ("must match credit card exactly" so the company name is blank) screws up your shipping address (will not let you enter a company name).
