WTF do Schools do Anyway?
Warning Rant Ahead: You have been warned...
Seriously, yesterday and today I have been at the “renaissance school”, where children’s souls go to die. This place is horrible, that is really the only word to describe it. These Kids don’t care. There is nothing you can do for them, whatever you say they just roll their eyes and suck their teeth and then ignore you and go on doing what they wanted to do anyway.
I have heard tales of people getting their heads bashed in by locker doors, car doors, floors, and other hard surfaces. I now know who knocked up whom and who is sleeping with them. I know the favored drugs of the week and that my students are going to parties this weekend to get “Fucked-up”.
I have had the Principal in my room twice and a police officer. I have had two large teems in my face, IN my face, because they wanted to go to the bathroom. WTF?
These kids are the up coming generation; they are the ones who are supposed to lead after us. What is wrong with us? This kid’s dad buys him drugs, this one’s mom leaves her booze out, this one’s is never home, this one beats other people up in front of his kids…GROW UP!
These kids are beyond reach now, their lives have been set on their paths and they don’t even know that there are other paths. They don’t know that they don’t have to be thugs or whores; they don’t know that they don’t have to do drugs. They don’t know that anyone cares, or what to do with themselves. They are lost, and this “school” isn’t doing a damn thing to help them, if they can even be helped.
They are on their own now, only they can find a way out. They won’t take help, you can’t force it on them, and God knows they won’t ask. What is this? What have we done? How did we lie to ourselves and think this was the right way? Wake the F up and do something! Demand that this changes! These are your kids, this is your future, this isn’t going away and it needs action…seriously, this is shit!
