The Melting Pot
Came across this while writing my last paper of the semester, which is more or less on queer assimilation. From the German constitution:
(1) Jeder hat das Recht auf die freie Entfaltung seiner Persönlichkeit, soweit er nicht die Rechte anderer verletzt und nicht gegen die verfassungsmäßige Ordnung oder das Sittengesetz verstößt.
(1) Every person has the right to the free development of his personality, so long as he does not violate the rights of others and does not infringe upon constitutional order or moral law.
Even though it's a bit open to interpretation, America really needs a similar law. The right to personality is constantly infringed upon.
