Starbucks maple lattes smell seductively like pancakes.

So... Dan's sitting in front of Wal Mart, 30 miles away, in the rain, waiting for the release of the PS3. It'll be nice to have a quiet couple of evenings to myself, but I'll miss him all the same.

The "holiday season" is upon us, which means baking and candy-making time for me. I kicked it off with a batch of PERFECT fudge night before last (I'm proud of myself because I didn't have a candy thermometer and it didn't come out gritty and nasty like last year's first batch...), and am planning on making platters of candy and cookies and other such goodies for people like professors (really, probably only Dr. Perraud. He's my favoritest ever.) and one for the Lab, one for the fine folks at Phinney Hall (our departmental building) and two for Dan, one for work and one for school. I'm planning recipes already. Yay baking season! It really makes me happy.

I'm also making a fair majority of my presents this year again, but I have the capacity to make some cooler ones working for Jill. I like painting stuff almost as much as I like cooking stuff. The crocheting frenzy has already begun as well, and that's going splendidly also.

Puppies are doing well and all that jazz. Not much more to report, since semi-routine business has eaten most of the rest of my life.

Happy Wednesday everyone!
