(no subject)
Felt the need to update since I finished up my spring break and started normal life again (haha get it: Normal life. Ok ok, I know it was bad). My spring break sucked. I had one in a half wisdom teeth taken out and I‘m not gonna pretend to be tough; it hurt like hell. I couldn’t open my mouth, I have a painful bruise on my cheek, and all I ate was baby food and mush. This lasted for about 5 whole days which in the scheme of life doesn’t sound like much, but when it’s your spring break and the weather is nice, recovering from surgery is that last thing that you want to do. I’m getting better now, I’m almost eating normal stuff again. It hurts to open my mouth widely still and my stitches (which are supposed to be dissolving) are annoying me. Hopefully in a few days I will be a lot better. I’m just self conscious of the big bruise on my face right now. No my boyfriend doesn’t beat me lol.
Yesterday, back at school, I had a new experience. I wadded into a creek for my ecology class to collect specimens and get measurements. It was fun except it was freezing cold and super windy. The wind almost pushed me in once, thank God it didn’t. Oh yeah, and then there was the “sinking in an unexpected hole” part, where water gushed into my hip wader and soaked my jeans. Yeah that was fun. Pond scum, and nastiness all over me. Yuck, but of course, I couldn’t help but laugh. Well since our group obviously had the deepest part of the creek to work on, we were the last to get done and some guys came over to help. And before I could yell a warning, one boy jumped into the exact spot I sunk and completely fell in. He looked like he was swimming and when he stood up he actually spit out water. It was the most hi-larious thing I’ve seen in a long time. I feel bad that he came over to be a good Samaritan and ended up getting screwed but oh my, I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m laughing right now. My TA was laughing at us from the edge of the creek. Good times for the memory book.
I don’t know what’s up with my advisor but I guess I have to go see this guy instead. He left a message on my phone, getting back to me about an appointment I need to figure out the classes I’m registering for next fall and said that he was seeing all of Anjie’s students this week but he never left a name. Silly guy. Now I’m not quite sure what to do. Guess I’ll take a look around tomorrow and figure it out who he is…
