i'm starting over, and i'm starting a revolution. y'can come or be left behind, i can't give too many fucks either way if i'm gonna pull this off, 'coz the time for action is now and lord i'm heeding the call! i'm starting up a novel, which, when i finish it(and i'm planning on finishing it before i turn 20), will be the first thing besides a short story i've ever completed. excluding poems and songs and crap. it'll be like my own p.h.d. in a sense, 'coz i'll be able to look at myself in terms of accomplishments and then respond to the question (posed by myself, probably) "What have you done?" with "I have written a novel".
'coz i've done shit, this' all just a facade, i've got no magic in my bag, and i don't know why everyone's lecturing me about how good i'm really supposed to be if i just tried and yaddayaddayaddaand i don't mean to be disrespectful or nothing, but i know what most of these people are going to say before they say it. not even that i believe that shit, i've just heard it before.
and i can't stand people telling me i'm too smart to be such a fuck up.
whatever, s'yeah, i'm going to give it a while before I rush into this novel thing. not in terms of writing it, I already know that i'm doing that much, or in terms of the title, I think I've got that down already, but the meat's what i'm gonna wait on.
writing's like painting for me in certain ways. 'coz sometimes i like to just attack the canvas with paint and start from there, but i might also start with pencil on the canvas before i put paint over it. and when my attention span allows it, i might even sketch out a drawing or two on paper before i even start working on the canvas. with writing it can be the same in terms of preparing. +You can just go in with absolutely nothing but a mad mind and a rush to get this vision outta you, or you can sit down and brainstorm about what you want to write about, or you can even plot out the course of yr work or whatever, and if yr some crazy kinda psycho-person, you can investigate and gather information so you know stuff that'll help you work on yr thing. whatever yr situation allows. and in the ways that y'can experiment with brushstrokes to get different textures and effects, there're all these neat literary techniques that you can use to get different vibes and tones. and it might even be something like the titles of a certain book all being similar in that they're all using alliteration. . .(Holyfuck i just had an idea for the titles of the chapters for the book imna write. all of the titles will be 5 syllables long, with an alternating rhyme scheme, and they'll describe vaguely and metaphorically what happens in the story, but if yr looking at the chapter listing-page-thing, it'll read as a single poem.)
y'know what, nevermind. i'm asking too much of you guys, aren't i? if you read through that whole parentheses nonsense thing - sweet, do you even care about that painting crap i was writing about before? i bombard people with information like it gets me off, jeez.
hah, stay smiling, people, i'm going off the deep end again.
