Leaving Zion behind, we travelled out of the canal into the open sea. The waters which were calm within became violent without mercy and the tempest swallowed us up.
Falling into the depths I suddenly found myself falling out of a black stormy sky, crashing into a sprawling desert laid out before me.
The skeletons of the fallen lay all around me, and there was no grace amongst the burning wrecks that had plummeted into this abyss so long ago.
There was no sun only the flash and roar of thunder, like a growling beast this place devoured your very soul. And yet I found my way and beheld a maelstrom of fire and knew I had found it. Hell’s bastion, wreathed in flame, the wind that swirled about it did not roar or howl but screamed of a thousand agonies.
And so I descended into that valley of death knowing that the horrors I would face within those ancient walls would be unlike any nightmare I had yet conceived. And that would only be the first step in many before I came before that which I was sent to destroy
