Update on life

Work. Workworkworkwork. This is a very good summary of my summer.

The ugly: It seems that my SO's shoulder needs to be operated within six months. This means that I will be living for 9 months with someone, who can't use his arm properly. For the first nine weeks his arm will need to be held totally immobile and he is allowed to do some light work around four months after the operation. Considering that his work and studies both require good health and functional limbs, this is less than ideal. Also, we have two big dogs. So as much as I know this operation needs to be done, I'm still not too happy about living with, well, essentially a cripple, for nine months. Oh yeah, unless the insurance company decides to pitch in, we'll be out of 4500 euros.

The good: On a much happier note, Nessa keeps growing like a weed. She's now 17 weeks old and weighs 17 kilos. She's a lean pup with seemingly endless amounts of energy and love for the world. It has been so hot recently, that I bought Ruska and Nessa an ice pop to share today. And they did brilliantly, taking turns in licking and nibbling the thing. Nessa also seems to have no problems with being left home alone or with Ruska. She's also practically house broken now.
The bad: Nessa still doesn't really listen to us. She also has some really odd warts in her mouth, that according to the vet are relatively normal for Finnish Hounds. They should disappear within two months, but until then her mouth is decorated with grey lumps.
