The beginning of second year... so I have officially been in Kingston for a week, and have had a lot of things happen despite only having been to two classes so far.

The prof for Medieval history seems to act like a 10-year old child. She got really excited when she found out that it snows in Kingston ("YAY!!! We are going to have tobogganing hour.. but don't tell anyone!!) because she is from Texas (and she doesn't carry a gun. She emphasized this point many times throughout the lecture). I'm a little annoyed because I was originally looking for lecture-only classes because of the stupid 3-hour seminar all 2nd year history majors have to take, and I am thoroughly not looking forward to. So basically the prof decided to convert the last hour of our 3-hour Medieval history lecture into a tutorial period.. .. .. NOoooooooooooOOOooooO!!!

Honestly.

Pissed!

The Soviet history prof had better not spring something like that on us. I guess I'll find out in a few hours.

Chinese was pretty predictable. We're crammed into a small classroom with only enough room for two rows of desks. She started teaching right away.. there are a couple people that lived in China and can thus speak Mandarin pretty well. One's a white guy and one's a Middle Eastern looking girl. Its really quite cool. Its also like the black guy that I met who lived in China for a while. Its nuts. I keep meeting all sorts of people who lived in China and speak way better Chinese than me. Ha. Oh well.

Finished KO One and am halfway through the X-Family, but those aren't horribly interesting. Though.. I am watching them without English subtitles so yeah..

Also.. the house is quite good, despite the amounts of ants we have found in the kitchen. There are ant traps everywhere, but all in all the house is loverly. Its bigger than most people's houses. So yay.

Here's a lovely picture of my room.

Yes, my room opens onto the backyard, and yes, our backyard is great!

Excuse the boringness, and the dining chair I have in the picture. It has since been replaced with a proper computer chair.

Wow. Long entry. Need to go kill more time...
