Insomniacs R' Us

When I was in elementary school, I loved sunrises. Fortunately back then, I was still blessed with the ability to wake up at an ungodly hour and steal up to the balcony to watch the sunrise. I guess as I grew older and started to stay up later and later at night, my biological clock got totally whacked out.
At first I stayed up late for projects. That was in high school. The most I probably stayed up was until one am in the morning. And I felt like shit the next day because I'm usually shaken awake at five thirty sharp.
And now in college the most that I've stayed up...? Hell, the most was not sleeping all night at all. Horrible memories. I remember next to nothing about my Chem lecture class and even worse, I fell asleep with my eyes open (yes, that is possible!) in the middle of Kas 1. Just my luck that my prof had to ask me a question then and the next thing I knew everyone in class was sniggering at me.
But seriously... I want to know why the heck I've been transformed into a night creature now. To quote a line from the Disney movie Twitches: "When the moon's up, I'm up." Or maybe it should be the stars.
I really need my sleep. But the funny thing is I can only seem to get the proper amount of sleep I need when I'm sleeping in my narrow small bed back home in Iloilo, sharing the same room with my annoying sisters as opposed to having one gloriously large bed to my own to roll on here in Manila. Hn. Go figure.
Must be a window thing.
