A mixed team encounters a problem which requires them to use their diversity skills, combining ideas and perspectives from different characters, in order to reach a solution. It cannot be solved by one person or worldview.
What if the way people were treated gave them superpowers? Acefolk become invisible. Gays adapt to all the bashing by becoming invulnerable. Lesbians become witches with powerful spells. Transfolk gain the ability to shift sex/gender because that's what people already think they're doing. That would drive the bigots bugfuck because they couldn't protest the people they hate without giving them power.
