odd title for my post, no? Well, not in actuality. At this very moment I am procrastinating for a paper that is due tomorrow. "Tommorow" you ask... yes. Maymester.... ugh.
the point of this paper is to analyze the men's interactions within "Tristan" by Thomas Mann.... inspired by tristan and isolde no doubt.... good story, yes...
The problem lies in the fact that my mind has taken a fancy to other elements of the story and does not wish to write on the topic assigned. So I'm putting it off again and again.
on another note; I am now a girl who dyed by her own hand. Or rather jessica's. If you haven't seen the hair lately it means that you haven't been spending enough time with me and we need to go grab lunch. I have been socially dormant for a little while due to school. I will be back in full swing mid june!!! there will be parties, luncheons, trips to the park, picnics, skating and bowling trips, trips to play tennis, basketball, softball and go swimming.... all of these things are so close that the actual events themselves are already playing a symphony in my head!
well... on to a cig and then a paper.
Here are some quotations brought to you by my pensive decision to write the paper on how both men are creating mutually exclusive universes around the woman that they love and that both cannot understand the other's "horrible" demeanor because they harbor different understandings and meanings for the concept of love ... (aka her husband I feel really does love her even though he fools around with chamber maids and leaves her in the hospital so that he can go run his buisness vs. the author who romanticises her and makes her into a queen of sorts esp. since she is dying so he inspires her to confront her life, grab passion, and attain self-realization.... *swoon*)
"Let a woman do what she may"
"I don't want to live--
I want to love first,
and live incidentally"
"So though you're with her,
Love you I must"
"the heart is half a prophet"
